DOG TRAINING CONSENT

The following information describes the dog training services provided by WHAT-A-CANINE, LLC as a professional dog trainer and your rights as a consumer of these services.

Founder and lead trainer, Anthony Terrazas, is a professional dog trainer with 15+ years of experience training canines. He began his journey in the United States Air Force where he gained experience with bomb and narcotic canines, assisted with Presidential security, and PTSD service dogs. After serving his country, he was employed as a Lead Canine Trainer in Houston, TX where he imprinted canines on narcotics, explosives, accelerants, article searches, tracking, open area and building searches, decoying, and target biting. Additionally, Anthony was an instructor for civilian law enforcement basic handler and trainer courses.

Anthony is certified through American Kennel Club (AKC) as a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, Star Puppy, Trick Dog, and Temperament Tester. He is qualified to help dogs and their owners with various issues including, but not limited to, basic obedience, aggression, regression, and socialization. He has specialized training in security dog, therapy dog, and service dog training. He recognizes the importance of scientific research and training in canine behavior and will incorporate his extensive knowledge in your canine training and recommendations.

As a consumer, you have the following rights:

  • You have the right to receive information concerning the methods of training employed, the techniques used, the duration of training (if known), and the fee for services provided.

  • You have the right to consent to or decline the us methods as a part of the training process.

  • You have the right to seek a second opinion from another trainer.

  • You have the right to terminate training at any time.

In order to provide the highest quality training possible, the following may apply:

  • Recommendations may be made for the inclusion of family or other caretakers to be present in training sessions. While not a requirement, we recommend that anyone caring for the animal be present in training sessions. Please let your trainer know who will be present in training sessions.

  • For particular training cases, information may be shared with other trainers with whom your trainer collaborates. Office staff will have access to limited information and are trained to keep your information private.

FINANCIAL AGREEMENT

I agree to:

  1. To pay the amount as listed on the service you are booking. Payment is expected prior to the beginning of the session.

  2. Appointments not canceled or rescheduled 24 hours in advance will be charged a $75 no-show fee which must be paid before the next session.

  3. Payments of fees are the full responsibility of the client.

  4. Training packages offer a special reduced hourly rate. Packages must be used within twelve weeks of purchase. Fees for these training packages are non-refundable.
